He is retired military with PTSD and he is also a Moose shifter. I love Boris and his very large and majestic rack. Outfoxed by Love is one of my top two favorite books in the series. While I wasn’t a huge fan of the audio of Kodiak’s Claim, I still wanted to continue to give the audios a try, because I love this series. I had already read this entire series before this series was released on audio, so I had already read all of the books in the Kodiak Point series before starting any of the audios. My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at. He was apparently a ladies' man, now whether that was before or after the mate bond, I do not know, however his defence for the acceptability of HIS "infidelity" over HERS was "it's different for me. He has asked her to move on but in reality he expected her to stay a virgin, save herself for him, pine for him while he'll take sick satisfaction from constantly refusing her. And decided he's no longer worth saving her virginity for, so she is very sexually active AFTER the mating attraction is discovered and he pushed her away. So she apparently is comfortable with pump and dump. Now this stupid moose, literally a moose, decides he's not good enough for his mate so the he's way to "protect" her would be to hurt her. That's supposed to be a sure thing, where the shifters are supposed to be annoyingly devoted and faithful. What's the point of reading a shifter romance when the fated mates decides nah we don't want it let's just sleep around?

I mean, I am no stranger to this standalone series. I was not expecting the deep, torturous, gut you, make you cry, emotions that Pucked Off had in it. And because of that this review is going to be long-winded and a little all over the place, so be prepared.įirst off, before I even begin to get into things, I want to say. My feelings are so HUGE, so MASSIVE, so ALL ENCOMPASSING they can barely be contained. And I'm here to tell you that I have MAJOR FEELINGS for this book. And then I had an immediate urge to go and re-rate other books I had read in the past because this story changes the way you see things. I mean, my first response after finishing was to release several breaths, close my eyes, and savor the moment, the journey, I had just gone on. One where I read something that affected me so deeply, I can't even form words to describe it. And I most certainly feel as though I just had a moment. I almost don't know where to start with this review. Overwhelmed by all I'm feeling, and all I'm thinking. I'm just ::: stares into space, grasping for words::: I'm overwhelmed. HOW DO I GET OVER THAT? Seriously, how on earth do I get over such a phenomenal story? Then I read the books to my eldest child – and found myself not as charmed as I’d hoped. I wanted to creep past the Angry Pixie, watch Dame Washalot empty her buckets of water over Mr Watzisname (how much washing did she really need to do?), and make friends with Silky and Moonface. I imagined biting into a Hot Cold Goodie, or sucking a toffee shock. I dreamed of using a Slippery-Slip – the huge slide which goes down the centre of the tree. Or flying on a dandelion seed in the Land of Giants. I read them first growing up, and revelled in the thought of the different magical lands that could be reached at the top of an enormous tree – the Land of Take-What-You-Want! the Land of Goodies! Imagine being able to ask for an ice cream of any flavour, and going for sardine, as Connie did. I am a veteran reader of Enid Blyton’s Faraway Tree books. This Penguin Classics edition is the definitive text, authorized by the Joyce estate and collated from all known proofs, manuscripts, and impressions to reflect the author’s original wishes.įor more than seventy years, Penguin has been the leading publisher of classic literature in the English-speaking world. Exuberantly inventive in style, the novel subtly and beautifully orchestrates the patterns of quotation and repetition instrumental in its hero’s quest to create his own character, his own language, life, and art: “to forge in the smithy of my soul the uncreated conscience of my race.” At its center lie questions of origin and source, authority and authorship, and the relationship of an artist to his family, culture, and race. In doing so, it provides an oblique self-portrait of the young Joyce himself. The first, shortest, and most approachable of James Joyce’s novels, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man portrays the Dublin upbringing of Stephen Dedalus, from his youthful days at Clongowes Wood College to his radical questioning of all convention.
